Technology Demonstration Centre (SZTDC) was established
in 2001 as a section 21 company to provide technical, business
development, and research support to
small
scale
mining
and
mineral
related enterprises. It is supported by the Small Enterprise Development
Agency (Seda)
Technology
Program
under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Since 2001, SZTDC has been focusing primarily on demonstration of
technology solution to mineral processing and beneficiation
technological challenges faced by
small scale miners (SSM’s).
Following the new strategy developed by SZTDC, the mandate is now
focused to utilise this unique experience and track record in creating
sustainable SSM enterprises, and contributing to economic growth with
its resultant job and wealth creation.
SZTDC provides entrepreneurs with the opportunity to
commercialise
viable small scale mining projects within an environment that provides
relevant technical-appropriate technology linkages and business
development services with the ultimate goal of ensuring that artesian
and small scale mining projects
(especially
those owned by
the
previously
disadvantaged)
becomes viable business enterprises.
